February was a wonderful month for WIPA-NYC. It started with an insightful event held at one of the Garment District’s chicest event spaces, SECOND Floor. Some of the best in the wedding industry were in attendance along with several luxury boutique vendors. Guests enjoyed wonderful cocktails provided by Gin Lane, Magic Moments Vodka and Rampur Single Malt to name a few. The culinary art of The Vine & L'Amico delighted the taste buds of all awaiting the evening’s presentation. Samantha Roberts, the social media expert who built The Knot's award-winning Instagram, did not disappoint. She discussed how to take our social media to heart in an informative, witty and captivating manner. The event ended with a post reception party featuring fabulous individual mini wedding cakes by Cake Alchemy. Entertainment by the Lion and Tiger Band and the aerial magic of Cirque Central ensured that the event ended in an exciting and memorable fashion. February ended even better as WIPA-NYC increased the number of members, officially became a chapter and of course, launched its very own Instagram and Facebook Profiles in order to take its social media to heart!
Toast Events was awarded a Diamond Award during the inaugural awards gala for their impeccable escort card display at a recent American Spirit Works wedding. They are also under consideration for two Allie Awards honoring their teamwork with vendors and creative use of an event venue."
Colorado Wedding Company, LLC has been nominated for a 2017 People’s Choice ICON Award in the category of Best Wedding over $75,000. Winners will be announced on March 3.
Desert House Productions was awarded "Best DJ or DJ Booking Agency 2017 - Vendor Voted Gold Medal - Phoenix, AZ" in Borrowed & Blue’s “Best of B&B” 2017 Awards.

Alan Katz of Great Officiants has opened up a new division called Joint Vows. With the laws changing in California making cannabis legal, Alan decided to be the first one out of the shoot to provide a team of officiants who were understanding of a couples desire to infuse their ceremony. His team of herbally trained officiants will take the ceremony to new highs. Note: The officiants do not provide or indulge in any substance before during or after the ceremony.

Here Comes The Guide’s Director of Media & Communications, Jolene Rae Harrington, was quoted extensively in a recent online article, “Plan an Eco-Friendly Wedding.” Her tips covered eco-chic bridal fashion, food and flower donations and socially conscious registry advice.
SocialLight SoCal was featured in the first LGBT friendly Wedding Magazine in California, Love Wins California Weddings.
SocialLight SoCal has 2 new additions to the team. Michael Bernard will manage the Temecula Wine Country area and Maria Leggio is now in charge of Orange County.
The 10th on Vail Mountain was featured in Rocky Mountain Bride for Kaeliegh and Jon’s fairytale mountain wedding. From yoga at the base of the gondola to the rain stopping just in time for the iconic mountain top ceremony, the entire weekend was beyond perfection.”
Kevin Dennis of WeddingIQ has been announced as a speaker this year for Wedding MBA in Las Vegas this fall. He also recently shared insight on global wedding traditions with the Travel Channel.
Amy and Melanie of Where Will They Stay? recently discussed diversifying your services with Sage Wedding Pros, as well as innovative ways to boost your bottom line with Special Events.
Meghan Ely has been selected as NACE National’s 2017 Conference Planning Team Leader. She is also scheduled to speak at WIPA Philly April 19, and will be presenting to WIPA San Francisco this July in Livermore.

On February 2, the Loews Regency San Francisco Hotel partnered with “Modern Luxury Weddings California” magazine to celebrate two fantastic new additions to the world of weddings in the San Francisco Bay Area: the launch of the magazine’s Spring/Summer 2017 issue and the hotel’s newly remodeled space! Close to 100 attendees were carefully chosen to receive an invitation to “The Big Reveal,” and arrived to celebrate in style as they chatted up new contacts and existing “friendors” for a much-deserved night of treats.
Forbes Travel Guide has again bestowed The Broadmoor with its coveted Five Star Award. For a record-breaking 57 consecutive years, the iconic Colorado Springs destination has been recognized for its commitment to helping guests “Discover Adventure” within an authentic and elegant western atmosphere.
The Penrose Room restaurant, and The Spa at The Broadmoor, each received Forbes Five Star awards for the eighth consecutive year, making The Broadmoor the only triple Five Star award-winning property in Colorado.
Premiere Party Rents has been announced as a finalist for Best Rental Company - Los Angeles in the California Wedding Day Best of 2017 Awards. They are also thrilled to be providing rentals for celebrity wedding planner and fashion designer David Tutera’s upcoming wedding rehearsal at the end of March.
Vibiana is looking forward to hosting California Wedding Day's Best of 2017 in May. The venue recently hosted Beefsteak 2017 and the 2017 I Do! Bridal Show with Fancy That! Events and was published in Luxury Weddings and Style Magazine and Signature Luxury Travel and Style Magazine.
Eddie Zaratsian Lifestyle and Design is thrilled to have spoken at Wedding Week Hawaii thanks to WIPA. He shared his design process to many wedding professionals of all industries in attendance.
