Happy 11th Birthday, WIPA!

Did you know that WIPA was born on July 14th, 2008? We have come such a long way in these past 11 years, thanks in large part to the contributions of our founding members and past board members. I want to take this opportunity to give a quick shout out to all of our Past Presidents - Rrivre Davies, Brit Bertino, Carol Rosen, Sharon Dexmier, Pauline Parry, and Joyce Scardina Becker. We truly would not be where we are today without the support, guidance, and wisdom of these amazing individuals! Thank you all for your years of service to WIPA! As a way to share in the celebration, I encourage you all to post a photo on WIPA's birthday, July 14th, and tag as many members as you can. Let's see how wide the celebration can get!

This past month we had the opportunity for our International Board Retreat and Chapter Leaders Retreat in Chicago. It was a very productive couple of days and it was so great to interact with leaders from all across the country. Thank you to everyone for making the trip! I would also like to give a special thank you to WIPA Chicago for being such gracious hosts. This was my first time to Chicago and while I had a fantastic time with my WIPA peeps, I'm looking forward to coming back to see a bit more of the city, enjoy some delicious deep dish pizza, and experience more of Chicago's hospitality!

As I reflect on the 11 years of WIPA I am reminded of this quote from Maya Angelou - "All great achievements require time."  I'm excited to see what we can achieve in the next 11 years!

Kevin M. Dennis, CPCE
2019 WIPA President
