Leading Event Associations Partner with Aim to Increase Representation in Industry

(Scottsdale, AZ) —The National Society of Black Wedding & Event Professionals (NSBWEP) and The Wedding International Professionals Association (WIPA) are pleased to announce a collaboration to advance diversity and inclusion initiatives in the events industry.

“We are proud to partner with the National Society for Black Wedding & Event Professionals and welcome new perspectives to build our growing educational foundation,” says Meghan Ely, president of WIPA. “We recognize the influence the NSBWEP has in our industry, and we look forward to supporting them in their mission to increase representation, recognition, and exposure for the Black community within the wedding industry.”

The NSBWEP has been committed to the advancement of Black wedding and event professionals since its inception in 2020. “Our mission has always been to serve as a catalyst in the wedding and event industry by building community and providing equal opportunities for all industry professionals,” states NSBWEP founder, president, and CEO, Tara Melvin. “We are excited to partner with WIPA and amplify our message of inclusivity to its diverse and talented membership base.”

The two associations have committed to a number of deliverables, including a co-hosted joint virtual seminar, shared promotional content, and quarterly events on ClubHouse. The NSWEP Speaker Talent Roster will also be introduced to WIPA education chairs at an upcoming national committee meeting.
