As always, a big shout out to our members that have made the news. Below you'll find members that have been highlighted or otherwise recognized. Thank you to those that submitted news this month and thank you to our members that continue to push the outside of the envelope in some way. 

NAPA VALLEY LINENS has moved their operations to Napa. Their stunning new facility is located at 620 Airpark Road, Napa. They can be reached at 707-266-3181 or by email at [email protected]. Hours are Monday through Friday 9-5.

As a special gift to their new neighbors, they are extending a delivery rate of $19.00 to Napa and Sonoma counties. This special delivery rate includes free pick up, until the end of 2020.

Julie Bunkley and Courtney Wolf of Birmingham, Ala. and Atlanta, Ga. based design and plan firm Invision Events have been brought back for a second time to present at The Hybrid Collective on the relationship between high end planners and photographers. The Hybrid Collective is three days of en masse instruction, created and curated specifically for digital, hybrid and film photographers. 

Elizabeth Sheils of Rock Paper Coin and Bridal Bliss discussed ‘The Rise of Gen Z and Embracing Tech to Meet Their Needs’ on She Creates Business Podcast.  They also shared with The Ladders as one of the ‘7 working parents on how they’re navigating school this year.’ 

Oleta Collins, Founder and Owner of Flourishing Art Design Studio was featured on Martha Stewart and answered the question ‘Is It a Good Idea to Have Your Wedding Guests Play Ice Breakers and Getting to Know You Games?’

Kinsey Roberts of She Creates Business was featured on AllSeated on ‘Experiential Marketing Ideas for Your Venue’. She also discussed ‘Email Marketing Content: What You Need to Know’ on Catersource.   

Michelle Loretta of Sage Wedding Pros sat down and spoke with Planning In Training on ‘Triaging Your Finances.’

Christie Osborne of Mountainside Media weighed in on the ‘The Ultimate Monthly Business Checklist for Event Pros’ on Goodshuffle. She also shared ‘4 Areas to Address if You’re Not Seeing a Strong ROI’ on Nace. 

Kevin Dennis of WeddingIQ spoke with Talk with Renee Dalo Podcast on ‘Episode 49: Talk About Industry Associations’. He also gave ‘Tips for Strengthening Your Company During Tough Times’ on Catersource.

Jennifer Taylor of Jennifer Taylor Consulting offered advice on Sage Wedding Pros on ‘Making More Time for the Creative Process by Revisiting Your Planning Process.’ She also offered how to ‘Reclaim Your Schedule With These Simple Automation Tools’ on WeddingIQ.

Emily Sullivan of Emily Sullivan Events discussed ‘Micro Wedding Logistics To Consider’ on Catalyst. She also authored the article ‘A Guide to Opening your Business to Micro-Weddings’ in the latest issue of Wedding Planner Magazine.

José Rolón of José Rolón Events weighed in on The New York Times in ‘The Anxiety of Being a Wedding Guest’. He was also featured on WeddingPro on ‘How Collaboration is Helping This Planner Build Business and Community.’ 

Meghan Ely of OFD Consulting shared insight on The Ladders on a recent article ‘7 working parents on how they’re navigating school this year.’ She gave advice on ‘Micro Wedding Logistics to Consider’ on Catalyst. Meghan also curated ‘The Ultimate Monthly Business Checklist for Event Pros’ for GoodShuffle.

Alan Katz of Great Officiants will be speaking yet again at Wedding MBA this year but this time virtually. Rachel Sheerin has been selected as the keynote for the Age of Conversation Summit on September 9th and will be debuting a new talk, "The One Where We Reinvent Ourselves". Tanya Pushkine, aka The Vow Whisperer, was featured in Brides, as well as World Bride Magazine and Wedding Rule. She was also named one of the Top 10 Wedding Officiants in New York City in Wedding Rule.

Magnolia Celebrates Laura Maddox was written up on being a thought leader in the community by Authority Magazine   She was also featured in articles on what parents are doing for back to school, how to dress your child for a wedding  The Ultimate Monthly Business Checklist for Event Pros  How to throw a Micro Wedding in 2020 and more! 

Renée Dalo of Moxie Bright Events will be presenting Pivot To Passive: How To Diversify Your Income For 2020 & Beyond for the Book More Weddings Summit which runs from September 14-18th. 

Margaux Fraise of Harmony Creative Studio was a recent guest on the Business Unveiled Podcast, discussing how to streamline your sales funnel. She also presented her keynote Worst Case Scenario: Safeguarding Your Biz from the Unexpected to NACE Baltimore, NACE Sacramento + NACE Greater Miami.

From one of the co-founders of CHI thee WED, a Chicago-based wedding blog, a new planning tool for vendors and couples alike has been developed.  Is My Date Open? is a wedding planning tool that allows vendors to select which dates they are available (and not available) for future events.  This allows couples to easily find vendors for their event based on their availability without the need for extraneous emails and phone calls - especially if their date is already booked.  Vendors love the easy-to-use profile management system and easy to update availability tool.

Last month, PartySlate launched a new Virtual Events resource page to help event companies market their new virtual and/or hybrid event services. Also, since the pandemic started, the company has hosted a weekly digital marketing educational session to help event professionals build stronger digital brands during this challenging time. PartySlate hosted their 20th Digital Marketing webinar last week. All of the webinar recordings are posted here — topics include Pinterest marketing, Instagram best practices, Website Engagement, Photo Organization, Email Marketing and how to get published. Elizabeth Sheils, co-founder of Rock Paper Coin and senior planner with Bridal Bliss, was featured in a guest article on WIPA about 3 Questions to Ask When Performing a Digital Audit. Rock Paper Coin was also a guest on the She Creates Business podcast in an episode about The Rise of Gen Z and Embracing Tech to Meet Their Needs. Additionally, they were featured in a guest article on Catersource about Seven Business Lessons We’ve Learned from COVID-19, as well as on WeddingIQ about Empowering Your Creative Partners with Event Technology. Elizabeth and RPC continue to grow into new markets, including Seattle so keep an eye out for them! 

Noah Gordon of House Island in Portland, Maine was featured in the Robb Report: An Idyllic Private Island in Maine Has Become a Covid-19 Sanctuary for Superyachts. Additionally, Hamptons.com featured House Island in a discussion about Gordon's business model pivot for 2020 from ultra-luxury venue (for weddings, retreats and other landmark events) along with inaugurating the region's most exclusive new yacht club, to renting House Island as a safe haven. 

I Do Linens is thrilled to welcome Dee Lane Eades to the team as the new Event Design Specialist. An alumna of both Marist School and the University of Georgia, Dee Lane has been in the event industry for more than 30 years. But that is not where her passion for helping other’s ends, she has been on the board of our local NACE chapter, volunteered with the  Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau as a part of the “Bureau Buddies” program and is a member of the Delta Gamma Alumni Association.  Dee Lane has worked with linens almost her entire career and has a talent for helping others pick out linens that bring it all together. Friar Tux is proud to work with so many talented industry partners on styled shoots. They recently launched an online application for vendor partners who wish to style a model in a suit or tuxedo for an upcoming styled shoot. Friar Tux kindly requests applications are submitted two to three weeks in advance. Friar Tux also recently launched a Community Involvement page on their website that shares the different ways they work with organizations in the community to brighten someone’s day, one style at a time. Friar Tux was recently featured in an intimate, evening wedding elopement on Glamour and Grace and in a whimsical wedding in a cherry blossom grove on Green Wedding Shoes.
