Ah, boundaries. It’s one of the stickier subjects in life, both in personal and professional aspects. While they’re absolutely necessary for preserving your sanity, it can be a difficult line to draw when you know it’s possible that it could disappoint others.
Hello Everyone! My name is Kristen Seaholm and I am honored to be serving as your 2021 president for the WIPA San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, serving the greater Northern California region. As we all know, just because 2020 is officially behind us does not mean that things have gotten any easier with this pandemic. However, with each new year brings new opportunities and our incoming board is beyond excited to see what we can do to help support our members, community, and industry.
Transcription of video above:12 years ago, I left a steady job in the middle of the recession - and I took what I thought was my dream job, and I promptly left 3 weeks later. And being a wedding pro is always a big part of my identity, and so I was mortified. I had no job, not sure what I was doing. And I'd literally just spent the last 3 weeks having all my vendor friends come in, take appointments with them, give them tours - and it all fell apart. And frankly, I just wanted to stay home. I did not want to go anywhere. I did not want to see anybody. And frankly, that's not like me. |
