On March 26th, WIPA’s New York Chapter held their first meeting of 2018 at The Glasshouses, one of NYC’s finest event spaces with magnificent views of the iconic skyline. Before opening the doors to the attendees, members took advantage of a private Meet & Greet with Guest Speaker Jess Levin, Founder, and CEO of Carats & Cakes. Once the evening was officially underway, guests took in the gorgeous sunset over the Hudson River and enjoyed the delicious catering of Elegant Affairs and music from a talented harp and vocal duo from Jarrell Entertainment. ProSho Sound provided top-notch audio and visual equipment and the presentation went flawlessly. Jess Levin focused on “The Business of Diversification” and gave lessons from her four-year journey of building Carats & Cakes. Afterward, guests enjoyed a lively after party for the ages.

Superstition Springs Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona is happy to welcome Addison Bigelow as our new Private Events Coordinator. Formerly a strong leader in our restaurant, Addison will direct all of her energies on weddings and corporate events and manage all of the details that make our events exceptional. Addison accepted this position as a natural step toward her career as a meeting planner. We are thrilled to add her to our Operations Team.

On March 20, 2018, the Bently Reserve hosted the biggest events industry party, Entire Production’s “Vernal Equinox.” This interactive celebration showcased the most cutting-edge trends in the event planning business, from live performances to creative beverages and food.
Tyler Florence’s Wayfare Tavern has created a special cocktail named after the prestigious special events venue, the Bently Reserve, consisting of Wild Turkey Rye, allspice dram, Benedictine, and sweet vermouth.
A lot happening at Great Officiants. A new milestone was hit 500 Reviews on YELP. This makes them the most reviewed Officiants on the west coast. They Just added 2 new officiants to their team. Who Al-x will be Issuing Marriage Licenses and Performing ceremonies in English, Japanese and Tagalog and Michelle who will be doing them in English and Vietnamese. Their Officiant Stacey just did a bit on the TV Show Love and Hip Hop.
Heather Jones of Wente Vineyards was recently featured on Catersource for their picks on food & beverage trends for 2018. Wente was also featured on Martha Stewart Weddings in an article where chefs revealed the biggest wedding food mistakes that couples make.
Sandy Hammer, co-founder and CEO of AllSeated was featured on Thrive Global sharing her top lessons learned from her experiences. She was also featured on Sage Wedding Pros with her tips on how to scale your business with technology.
Kevin Dennis of WeddingIQ was recently featured on WeddingWire EDU where he wrote an article on branding considerations for newly-diversified services. He was also quoted in Special Events where he spoke on the do's and don'ts of communicating with event professionals.
Kim Sayatovic of Belladeux Event Design was featured this month on OffbeatBride.com in a real wedding article that was inspired by the style of New Orleans. She was also featured on Catersource for her advice on balancing a creative personality with owning a business.
